Selection Criteria

The Institute's exams are academically very demanding and therefore we set high entry requirements. You should have achieved a consistently high academic standard throughout your education. However we are looking for a minimum of:

• 5 GCSE passes, including at least Grade B for Maths and English (or equivalent)
• A minimum of 300 UCAS points (or equivalent)
• At least a 2.1 degree result in any discipline

We do accept international equivalents of all the above qualifications.

Personal skills

In addition to the academic criteria, we look for the following qualities in applicants:

• A logical numerate mind that can deal with and interpret figures accurately
• An analytical, inquisitive outlook, always looking beyond the obvious
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong self-motivation - a determination to succeed Strong commercial and financial awareness
  The ability to gain the confidence of and co-operate effectively with all levels of clients

Work Experience

• It doesn't have to be accountancy related but we do like our trainees to join us with some experience of the commercial working world.
