Ian has 20 years experience in corporate recovery and personal insolvency including a year with the corporate recovery and advisory arm of a major UK clearing bank. He has experience in all forms of insolvency, but specialises in finding practical solutions to rescue businesses, whether by means of restructuring or formal insolvency procedures. He started his insolvency career at BDO Stoy Hayward in the midst of the previous recession in 1990/91 and obtained a varied insolvency base, from trading receiverships to company and individual voluntary arrangements.

In 1996, having obtained his insolvency licence, he joined RSM Robson Rhodes when he undertook a number of banking assignments including Independent Business Reviews, Insolvency Security Reviews and receivership work. He has been involved, amongst others, in trading hotels, nursing homes, a refrigeration manufacturer, a number of software businesses, and dealing with retail premises for both landlord and tenant. He is a licensed insolvency practitioner and a fellow of the ICAEW and R3.
